Emerging Technologies to Watch in 2021

2020 almost wanted to end, in a very different way than it began. This pandemic has made the business change digitally more than before. The number of businesses that have moved online in the past six months is more than the last decade.

There is a lot that is at stake for 2021. The question is whether mainstream technology such as analytics and AI data will remain powerful. Or will we see a new form of technology dominating the year? Even if time is the right of judges and determinants, here there is a possibility that the technology trend that we believe will dominate 2021

1. VR increases touch

To develop this technology, prototype devices have been produced and refined by researchers at Northwestern University (US). This product stands out with its ability to emit tactile signals using ingredients with microscopic vibrating particles attached to the skin.

The device, called the Epidermal VR, can be used to send a child's intimate touch in kindergarten to a distant parent or to give a feeling to touch objects with limbs.

With the game industry, it can generate appropriate warnings on body parts when the player's control character is attacked in a different location.

The development team creates a 32 vibrating point device installed on a 15cm x 15cm silicone polymer sheet attached to the skin without the need for tape, rope or cable.

This device uses NFC technology to send data. This is a short-distance wireless connection technology that is widely used in cellular payments on today's smartphones.

The researchers hope to develop the Epidermal VR devices mentioned above in the clothes, thus allowing those who have to use hands and prosthetic hands to wear devices to expose them to a more realistic sensation.

2. Internet for everyone

At present, it is difficult to live and work without an internet connection. Even so, it is known that about half of the world population does not have internet for objective reasons.

This situation has caused several technology giants to start the implementation of large projects for humanity. Google slowly spreads 'super large' internet flight to remote areas, while Facebook has plans to use drones to provide internet networks to remote areas.

Recently, we have spacex and Amazon with the project to provide the internet for humanity using artificial satellites. While Elon Musk has an ambition to launch around 42,000 satellites, Jeff Bezos plans to place around 3,236 small satellites in low-earth orbits.

In the Netherlands, they have succeeded in launching two satellites to Earth's orbit to provide internet connectivity for Antarctica.

3. Computer vision.

"Vision" here refers to a system that can identify objects, places or people from visual images - collected by cameras or sensors. This is a technology that allows smartphone cameras to recognize which parts of the pictures needed are just faces and support technology like Google Image Search.

By 2020, the production line will use computer vision cameras to track damaged product or equipment failures, and security cameras will be able to warn something extraordinary, unattended 24/7.

However, when the case of using computer vision increased by 2020, there would be a lot of debate about how to limit the use of this technology, because they greatly affected privacy.

4. The car is moved by itself

At first, no one thought that automation technology (mostly by robots) would develop as soon as possible. However, in unexpected situations like a pandemic, when people are limited to meet each other, people will find this direction the right direction.

The potential of this technology is very large. In the future, robots will replace humans who work in a harsh and dangerous environment (such as a rich chemical environment, with epidemics). Comfortable, right?
